Position Summary
The IT Level 2 Help Desk Support Technician is responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting services to Sturgeon Lake Central School staff and students, Education Alliance staff, and Sturgeon Lake First Nation departments and programs. The successful candidate will maintain technology systems, provide help desk support, administer user accounts, and support the organization's network, security, and cloud-based environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site, remote, and help desk technical support to staff, students, and employees.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, iPads, printers, projectors, interactive whiteboards, and related technology equipment.
- Administer and support Microsoft technologies including Microsoft 365, Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure/Entra ID, Active Directory, and Intune.
- Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and password resets.
- Support and troubleshoot network infrastructure including servers, switches, routers, wireless networks, firewalls, and internet connectivity.
- Maintain and support access control systems, security cameras, and cybersecurity solutions.
- Support Edsby and other educational technology platforms.
- Assist with data backup, disaster recovery, software deployment, and endpoint management.
- Maintain organizational websites and web-based applications.
- Document technical issues, asset inventories, and support procedures.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Information Technology, Computer Systems Technology, Network Administration, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a Help Desk, Technical Support, or Systems Administration role.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Experience
Experience with:
- Microsoft 365, Teams, Azure, Active Directory, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Intune.
- Windows Desktop and Server operating systems.
- Network administration, wireless technologies, and firewall management.
- Access control systems and security camera infrastructure.
- Website administration and content management systems.
- Educational technology platforms including Edsby and Google Education
Certifications Considered Assets
- CompTIA A+
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA Security+
- CompTIA Server+
- Microsoft Certifications
- Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
- Cisco CCST or CCNA
- Other networking, cybersecurity, cloud, or systems administration certifications
Additional Requirements
- Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence.
- Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Ability to travel between organizational sites as required.
