Job Summary: The Senior .NET Developer will lead the technical delivery of prioritized enhancements for a federal client's online financial reporting application (ELMS). This role involves designing, developing, testing, documenting, and supporting secure and maintainable application improvements. The position is full-time, based preferably onsite in Regina, with potential for remote work within Canada for highly qualified candidates, and the contract term is from November 2, 2026, to March 31, 2027, with possible extension.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal teams and business users to review, clarify, estimate, and prioritize ELMS enhancements.
- Develop and maintain a realistic delivery plan outlining dependencies, risks, assumptions, and completion dates.
- Lead technical design and development of approved application enhancements.
- Produce application code adhering to established architecture, coding, security, source-control, and change-management standards.
- Maintain development scripts and Azure DevOps build and release pipelines as needed.
- Support deployments through development, testing, user acceptance, staging, and production environments.
- Prepare technical documentation, deployment instructions, configuration documentation, and release notes with operational support details.
- Ensure all source code, configuration, and project artifacts are properly stored in designated repositories.
- Mentor developers to ensure ongoing maintenance and support of the application post-development. Required Skills & Certifications:
- 10+ years of .NET development experience using C#, ASP.NET MVC, Razor view engine, SQL Server, Entity Framework Core, AutoMapper, jQuery, and Bootstrap.
- Experience developing and supporting applications using ASP.NET Core and a currently supported version of .NET (preferably .NET 10).
- Proven ability to deliver enhancements to complex, business-critical .NET applications.
- Strong experience with API development and maintenance.
- Experience using Azure DevOps pipelines for code deployment and branch/merge management under approval gates.
- Ability to analyze and modify applications containing tightly-coupled or complex business rules.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated clear communication skills and professional documentation capabilities.
- Experience mentoring developers for application maintenance and enhancement.
- Experience with Entity Framework code-first migrations across multiple deployment environments.
- Experience with Telerik UI for ASP.NET component development and version maintenance.
- Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) report development and validation.
- Experience working in team environments with tight, fixed delivery deadlines.
- Experience with financial or regulatory reporting applications is highly desirable. Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with ReactJS or AngularJS frameworks. Special Considerations:
- Preference for onsite work at the head office in Regina; however, off-site work within Canada may be considered for exceptional candidates.
- Engagement duration is fixed-term with potential for extension based on project milestones and mutual agreement. Scheduling:
