Senior Systems & Cloud Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Systems & Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise server, identity, and cloud infrastructure. This is a hands-on role focused on building secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure while supporting the transition of infrastructure operations from a managed service provider to an internal team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and manage Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, PKI, virtualization, storage, and backup environments.
- Design and manage Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including IaaS, landing zones, governance, security, and cost management.
- Administer Microsoft SQL Server, including security, backup/recovery, patching, performance, and high availability.
- Lead infrastructure audits, gap assessments, lifecycle planning, and architecture standards.
- Manage server patching, vulnerability management, monitoring, disaster recovery, and restore testing.
- Support infrastructure integration across IT and operational environments, including remote sites and occasional travel.
- Lead the transition of infrastructure operations from a managed service provider to an internal infrastructure team.
- Maintain infrastructure documentation, runbooks, recovery procedures, and technical standards.
- Collaborate with network and security teams to implement infrastructure, security, and identity controls.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in systems and cloud infrastructure engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, PKI, SQL Server, VMware/Hyper-V, storage, and backup/recovery.
- Strong experience designing and managing Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
- Proficiency with PowerShell; experience with Terraform or Bicep is an asset.
- Experience with infrastructure security, governance, and hybrid IT environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent professional experience.
- Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-104 or AZ-305 are an asset.
- Experience with infrastructure modernization, enterprise environments, or managed-service transitions is an asset.
